The Return of the Ninja

Back to wonderful Bodyworks on Tuesday morning. My core strength and stretching regime is now actually longer than my weights routine, even with the obliques section removed (due to the protesting hip). Still can´t see any sign of a 6-pack, but am sure I´m getting closer to a ¨cor, strength!¨ comment some time...

Off to the lovely Libby (physio) afterwards. She took one look at my somewhat pinked face (caught a little sun yesterday) and said:
Libby: ¨You´ve been running¨.
Me: ¨Er... yes....?¨
Libby: ¨Just for a couple of hours though¨ (she quipped).
Me: ¨Just a couple¨ (thinking it was actually 2.5hrs).
Libby: ¨How´s your hip?¨
Me: ¨Erm... it still hurts.¨
Libby: ¨And you´re still running on it.¨
Me: ¨Yes, but it´s not getting any worse!!¨
Libby: ¨It´s not getting any better though is it. Lie on the bed and we´ll see how bad it is.¨
Me: ¨Nooooooooo!¨

I´d rather spend 2.5hours running than 30mins with Libby. Physios know exactly how and where to prod to cause the most pain and are the ninjas of the health profession (because they know where you´ve ninjured yourself - ha ha!) Having said that, it does feel much better. And no acupuncture needles today so all good!

Running, in the short term, is verboten as is walking any significant distance. I can cycle and swim, but that´s it. Something about ongoing training preventing it recovering, causing a hairline fracture and then ultimately a broken hip. Bah humbug.
